Fresh Poker Rooms anyone?

Article by Ben Carso

Poker has been going on for such a long time now you will probably have forgotten about the 5-card-draw version. That’s it, the one everyone used to play with their mates after coming back from the pub. A great social event and on ethat will always stick memorably in most heads, providing they didn’t drink too much!

As Texas Holdem continues to spread to the four corners of the earth one wonders what will happen next. The free rolls are getting better, the players are getting better, and there are more players. Unfortunately there are many poker rooms where certain players can join the same table and continue to contact each other via the phone. This way they each others cards and can better the chances of winning against others, this has to be stamped out at some time surely, how and when this will happen is a question for all the poker rooms.

When players get bored of the same poker games, same people, same old poker tells it is usually time to move on. Fresh poker rooms are available and they are very good indeed, new tournaments, new players, new bonuses, the list goes on. Obviously loyalty plays a big part in poker and many will not want to switch poker rooms purely for the fear og change. It’s in our gut and will remain like that but change is normally what is best, at least that is what Mr Obama has said and he looks to be making the changes for the best.

The best online poker rooms usually have something decent to offer and there is no real need to switch completely as you can alway sign up as a fun player to test the water.

Which one you choose is a matter for you only, choosing which poker table to play at can be somewhat private and personal between you and the pc and should remain so, it may even be best to find an online poker list where there is enough choice and variety for you to make a good selection or if not, wait a while before something else props up that you may take a fancy to.

Texas Holdem Bluffing – Billings Poker Rooms

One of the most important arts to master in poker play is the art of bluffing. A bluff is when you make someone else fold a better hand by raising or betting. You put in money and it makes the other guy get scared and muck.

Deception is one element of poker. That is why it is considered as a very essential trick in holdem poker. The reason in bluffing is to make your opponents believe that you have a better hand when you actually do not. Players who believed you will then fold and leave you to win the pot.

Players who tend to fold easily are the biggest targets of a bluff. Bets that will be put out will serve as a form of information gathering on this player’s hand. In the pre flop if you bluff early against a tight player and he folds, you must think twice about trying it again in the next round. This player might have something. You must determine whether this player has a drawing hand. It is essential that you must know the players.

Your bluff is much more likely to be successful against a weak player who has already checked. Looking at other player’s weaknesses and taking advantage of them could be the best time to bluff. That is when you’re coming into a pot in a league position and all the other players before you have either checked or folded.

To bluff inexperienced or bad players is much harder to do compare to experienced players. This player will tend to stay with you until he could draw a much better card and eventually win the pot. Avoid bluffing too many people at one time. The more people you try and bluff, the more likely someone is to call you and discover that you really don’t have a great hand of cards.

There are more than a couple Texas Hold’em Poker variations that you can choose from. It helps that you ask about the house rules before you sit down in a poker table so you will not be surprised as to the variations that might exist. For example, there is the double flop where you will be dealt two separate community cards or what others refer to as board cards.

There is also the Crazy Pineapple, which is also sometimes called Pineapple Poker. This is almost identical to a standard poker game so if you are well familiar with the rules of standard poker, you will not find it all too difficult to play this Texas Hold’em variation.

Instead of having two hole cards to start with, you will be dealt three hole cards in Crazy Pineapple. Betting starts after the hole cards are dealt and when each player has placed his or her bets, the flop will be dealt just like in a started game. After the flop, each player will have to discard a hole card and will now have two hole cards just like in standard Texas Hold’em poker.

There are still a lot of other Texas Hold’em Poker variations to keep you from being bored with the standard game. Whatever kind of poker game you are playing, do not forget to keep that poker face.

Billings Poker Rooms – The River In Texas Holdem

The river in Texas Hold’em is the last community of card. You will not see the river card unless you have a strong hand that is a favorite to win or you have a draw to a winning hand. Once the river card is turned over, you know exactly what you have. Playing decisions on the river are easier than during other round but they do require some thought.

There are two mistakes that you can make when you get to the river. One is to call a losing bet, which will cost you the price of a bet. The other is to fold your hand, which will cost you all the money in the pot. To fold a hand is a far more costly mistake than merely calling a bet. If there is a slight chance you may have the winning hand you should call.

The pots can get very large in low limit games. Many times you will have a lot of players seeing the flop and many staying to see the turn. By the time the river card is dealt you will probably be getting the correct odds to call with any hand that has a possibility of winning.

If it’s your turn and you have a strong hand you should bet your hand if you are first to act. If you bet and the other player folds then they more than likely would have just checked if you had checked in an attempt to check raise. You should always look closely at the river card and try to determine how it could help someone’s hand.

When you show your cards you are giving away valuable information to other players. Therefore, never show your hand if you don’t have to. Let your opponent pay to see your hand. If there is a showdown don’t throw your cards in the muck until the pot is pushed to you.

The best thing to do when you are playing against this type of player heads up is to try to ignore the top card on the board; well we are assuming that this poker maniac player is not holding a good pair. This is indeed a very risky thing to do in any other give situation, but a pretty good strategy against this type of player.

In an ideal setting, you will want to get the maniac one on one, however if you have the nuts or an excellent hand, don’t be scared to raise and re-raise. A Texas holdem maniac is more concerned about intimidating you out of a pot rather than playing good poker. When you finally get the chance, fight and punish them.

Playing against a maniac takes a lot of patience for waiting for a dominant hand. You may find yourself passing up a lot of the hands you had most likely played in a normal game. Don’t get frustrated and don’t allow a few bad breaks to keep you off doing your game plan, just remember that when your dominant hands get called, than maniac player will pay you off.
